Kips Bay Fire Leaves Two Dogs Dead

Three firefighters were injured, and a restaurant was damaged as well.

KIPS BAY, NY — Two dogs perished in a fire at 122 Lexington Ave. Monday, according to a FDNY spokesperson.

The fire department received a call at 5:06 p.m. Monday and arrived at 28th Street and Lexington to find a fire on the top floor of the five-story building and in the crawl space between the interior ceiling and the roof.

None of the residents of the building were injured, but the fire caused three minor injuries to firefighters and the deaths of two dogs.

Lahori Kabab, a Pakistani restaurant occupying the ground floor of the building, was also damaged, according to the New York Post.

The fire remains under investigation.
