Assault of NYC Firefighter - New Trial Dates

The trial against the three men who assaulted and severely injured FF Richard Berkhout of E-298 on September 11th last year, began on Nov 13 in Suffolk County Criminal Court. The trial has been extended and will continue on Monday Nov 26 until further notice. However, no hearings will take place on Wednesday Nov 21. The family has requested available Firefighters to show their support by attending during the new trial dates, and to wear a shirt identifying yourself as a Firefighter. Please contact E-298 housewatch at 718-476-6298, for trial times each day, if you plan to attend.

  Arthur M. Cromarty Court Complex (Criminal Court Building), 200 Center Drive, 3rd floor, Riverhead, N.Y. 11901, before Judge Robert Doyle, inside Judge Farnetti's courtroom on the 3rd floor.
• WHEN:
  November 26 until further notice (contact E-298 housewatch for daily trial times)
• DIRECTIONS:
  *From Sunrise Highway take Route 61 North to Route 51 for 7 miles, the Criminal Court Building will be on the left side.
  *From the LIE, take Exit 71S to Route 24 for 4 miles, pass the County Jail, and make the 1st right turn.

NOTE: To enter the court you will need to pass through security so please allow time for this procedure. If you get lost, or need further directions, you can call the DA's office which opens at 9:00 am at (631) 852-2480.
