The New York City Fire Department and the NY Blood Center are partnering to start a program called "FDNY/NYBC Critical Days Program."

According to a flier for the program, the Blood Center will "double the impact" of a blood donation by donating $10 to support four charities including the New York City Bravest Scholarship Fund and the New York Police and Fire Widows' and Children's Benefit Fund.

To locate a blood drive or make an appointment, call 800-933-Blood or visit their web site at www.nybloodcenter.org.
