Uniformed Firefighters Across New York State Endorse Sean Coffey For Attorney General

New York, NY - Firefighters in New York City and around the state today came out to endorse Sean Coffey for Attorney General. Citing his commitment to service and record of fighting for all New Yorkers, The Uniformed Firefighters Association (UFA), which represents New York City's rank and file firefighters, and the New York State Professional Fire Fighters Association, I.A.F.F. AFL-CIO, which represents approximately 25,000 members in 103 local firefighters unions across New York, said Sean Coffey is the best choice to protect New York in the state's top legal office.

"It is truly an honor to receive the support of the people who keep New York City safe every day, especially in a time when so many threats are everywhere," Coffey said. "The Attorney General has tremendous legal power to remove dangers and threats we face.   New Yorkers need someone with the commitment and expertise to defend New Yorkers - from Wall Street to Albany corruption to criminals on Main Street.  As a Naval officer and former federal prosecutor, I know it takes constant vigilance to protect New Yorkers, and as Attorney General I will never let my guard down in our fight to defend our families and communities."

"New York City Firefighters support Sean Coffey because New York State needs a completely independent Attorney General.  Sean Coffey has the intelligence, integrity and independence to stand up and fight for the rights of all New Yorkers," said UFA President Steve Cassidy.

"Sean Coffey is the right person with the right qualifications to represent all of the people of New York State as Attorney General. The Attorney General is New York State's leading law enforcement official and with firefighters serving on the front lines it is vital we have someone able to not only represent New Yorkers interests in the courtroom, but someone who also knows first hand what it is like to serve on the front lines protecting lives," said NYSPFFA President Mike McManus.

Coffey has also been endorsed by a broad coalition of community leaders, newspapers and labor organizations across the state, including The New York Post, The Irish Voice, The Irish Echo, Congressman Ed Towns, Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez, Senator Al Franken, U.S. Rep. Dan Maffei, U.S. Rep Bill Owens and many more.
