SUMMARY:A-TEAM SCHOLARSHIP
DESCRIPTION:The family and friends of Lt. Joseph Cavalieri\, FF Christopher Bopp and FF James Bohan have established an A-Team Scholarship in their memory. The scholarship will award a freshman entering a private high school in September 2026 five hundred ($500) dollars each year. The student must submit an essay describing why they want to attend the particular private high school. The student must maintain a C or better average throughout high school. The scholarship competition is open to any child of an active or retired member of the UFA or UFOA. Applicants must submit an essay with parent’s name\, address\, phone number and work unit. SUMMARY:FDNY VFW POST 12033 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
DESCRIPTION:The SSgt Chris Engeldrum FDNY VFW POST 12033 is currently accepting applications for their Annual Scholarship Program. The program was established in 2018 in honor of SSgt Chris Engeldrum\, L-61 who was killed in Action\, on November 29th\, 2004\, while serving in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Each year the program awards a scholarship to one (1) male and one (1) female applicant in honor of Chris’s sacrifice. The Applicants must be a 2026 high school graduate entering college for the 2026 Fall Semester. Applicants must be a child or grandchild (biological/adopted) of an Active/Retired FDNY member that is a veteran of the military or currently serving as a member of the Guard or Reserves of the Armed Forces of the United States. Applications are due no later than September 1st\, 2026.
