SUMMARY:Free Skin Cancer Screenings
DESCRIPTION:The Fire Department has arranged free Skin Cancer Screenings for all members of the Department\, active and retired\, in an effort to help prevent one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers among firefighters. \nThe screenings will be held on Saturday\, April 26\, from 8:00am to 3:00pm\, at FDNY Engine 168/EMS Battalion 23\, located at 168 Veterans Rd E\, Staten Island\, NY 10309. Dermatologists will be on site to conduct the screenings. \nWe encourage all members to take advantage of this potentially life-saving screening. The process only takes about 10 minutes but could be vital in detecting your risk for skin cancer. None of your information will be shared with the Department. Firefighters will be advised to follow up with their own dermatologist should anything of note be detected during their screening. \nMembers can sign up in advance at https://bit.ly/FDNYSkincheck\, or by scanning the QR code with their mobile device. Walk-ins also welcome.
