MEMORIAL MASS FOR RUSTY STAUB

April 25, 2018 @ 12:00 am

A Memorial Mass will be held to honor the life of Rusty Staub, one of the founders of the NY Police Fire Widows’ & Children’s Foundation “Answer the Call.” This foundation has assisted the families of first responders who have been killed in the Line of Duty.

The Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 25th, 2018 at 2:00 PM at St Patrick’s Cathedral, 5th Ave and 50th Street in Manhattan. There will be parking directions to follow.

Although well-known for his professional baseball career and triumphs, Daniel J. “Rusty” Staub spent the latter part of his life giving back to the New York community. In 1985, he founded The New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund, inspired by his determination to help families experiencing the emotionally and financially devastating loss of a first responder.

The mission of The New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund is to support the families of New York City Police Officers, Firefighters, Port Authority Police, and EMS Personnel who have been killed in the Line of Duty. Last year alone, assistance was provided to 600 families and over $4 million was distributed.

We thank Rusty for his vision and determination to build a better future for the families of our fallen first responders.
