The San Diego Chapter of FDNY Retirees is inviting all active and retired members of the FDNY and their families to join them on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 2:30 pm for a very special 9/11 Memorial Remembrance Ceremony. The Memorial Service will be conducted on the flight deck of the historic aircraft carrier, the USS Midway CVS 41. The tribute is dedicated specifically to the heroic First Responders and Airline crew members that gave their lives on 9/11. Each First Responder will be remembered, including their rank and company. If you will be in attendance and wish to participate in the name reading, or have a specific name(s) that you would like to memorialize, please contact them via email, prior to Aug 20th at SDFDNYRETIRED@gmail.com. Free admission to the USS Midway Museum and ceremony will be granted to all attendees, starting at 1:00 pm. Class “A’s” are recommended, but not required. This year, E202 & L101 will be recognized as the guests of honor. Following the memorial ceremony, there will be a dinner reception at San Diego’s Pioneer Hook and Ladder Firehouse Museum, in the nearby “Little Italy” section of downtown San Diego.
