After being shot in the head during a robbery in 1990 and spending the following 33 years in a vegetative state, NYPD Detective Troy Patterson passed away on April 29, 2023. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 5 from 9:00am – 11:00am at Historic First Church of God in Christ, located at 221 Kingston Avenue in Brooklyn. A funeral service honoring Detective Patterson will follow immediately after, from 11:00am – 1:00pm, in the same location. Members are encouraged to attend in support of the NYPD.
