The FDNY Marine Corps Association is going to erect and dedicate a Memorial Monument to the memory of 17 NYC Firefighters who were also Marines when they were killed on September 11, 2001 at the USMC National Museum in Quantico, Va. on October 5, 2014 at 10:30 am following a short parade. A reception will take place following the Dedication Ceremony in the Museum at Noon. A large “Iron & Steel Run” convoy escorting two pieces of WTC Steel to be attached to the monument will depart Floyd Bennett Field with a police escort on October 4, 2014 at 7:30 am sharp, following an opening ceremony that will begin at 6:30 am.
