The FDNY Bureau of Health Services and the World Trade Center Health Program’s Cancer Awareness & Prevention Initiative FIRED UP for a CURE is asking that each company and station join in a friendly competition and donate $1 per member/per meal for the month of April. At the end of the month, the donations can be sent to FDNY WTC Oncology; 9 MetroTech Center, Rm. 2E-07 – Brooklyn, NY 11201. The winning company/station will be presented with a trophy for all of their efforts at the Free Family Picnic on Saturday, June 09, 2018, at Fort Totten. Over the past 4 years, FIRED UP for a CURE in partnership with the FDNY Foundation, the American Cancer Society, the Fire Family Transport Foundation and several other organizations have been strong in giving families affected by cancer financial and emotional support; as well as hope that one day we will find a cure. Through fundraising events, over $300,000 has been successfully raised to help aid in these efforts.
