Applications for the NYS Honorary Fire Chiefs and NYS Professional Firefighters 2017 Ted Green Memorial College Scholarships are now available. Eligibility: The scholarship competition is open to high school seniors and recent high school graduates who will not have completed more than one year of college by September 2017.

• Applicant must not have graduated from high school before 2016.
• Applicant must be a child of an active uniformed union member of the NYS Professional Firefighters Association.
• Members of the Executive Board or employees of the NYS Professional Firefighters Association or their children are not eligible.

Announcement of Winners: Scholarship winners will be announced at the 79th Annual Convention of the NYSPFFA, Syracuse, NY, June 26-29, 2017.
Awards: Awards are made when the recipient has registered at an accredited undergraduate college as a full-time student or any school furthering education beyond high school.

Amount: An award of $2500 is given to those students who are selected.

College Entrance Exams: Applicants will be required to take the SAT or ACT test. Students must have taken this examination no later than January of 2017.

Scholarship Essay: Approximately 400-500 words indicating why you should be the recipient of the award.
