VFW POST 12033 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
One-time scholarships in the amount of $500.00 will be awarded by VFW Post 12033 annually to one male and one female recipient meeting the following criteria: Candidate must be the child or grandchild, either biological or adopted, sponsored by an active or retired member of the FDNY. Candidate’s parent or grandparent must have served on active duty (DD-214) or be currently serving or previously served in a National Guard or Reserve Unit. Applicant must be a graduating high school senior with intentions of attending a college or an accredited trade school. Scholarship winner will be determined by drawing names from a hat. Scholarship applications must be submitted to the VFW Post 12033 Scholarship Committee before SEPTEMBER 1st of the student’s high school graduation year. Completed applications should be mailed to VFW Post 12033, P.O. Box 38, Thiels, NY 10984. Scholarships will be awarded after the first semester under further stipulations.
