On Saturday, October 11th at 11am at the Tweed Building located at 52 Chambers St., Manhattan, NY volunteers are needed to raise awareness in NYC. Rett’s syndrome is a rare disease that affects only females. It is a disorder of the nervous system that leads to developmental reversals, especially in the areas of expressive language and hand use. Girls with Rett’s syndrome will make an effort to climb a staircase, showing their determination and symbolizing the difficulties they face. Volunteers are needed to bring these girls to the top of the staircase. Only a couple of hours of your time are needed. Come out and learn more about this illness and support the family and friends of those who have been affected by this disease.
