The Firefighter Thomas J. Foley Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2001 as a tribute to an American hero who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001. The program is intended to provide a lasting legacy to the life of firefighter Thomas J. Foley by assisting the children of fellow FDNY firefighters in meeting the expenses of post-secondary educational costs. College Scholarships offered for students enrolling in an accredited two or four year college or university within the continental United States. Must be the dependent child of an active or retired FF or officer, whose parent or legal guardian has a minimum of one full year of service at the time of application.
