Saturday August 27th, 2016 is the Portchester 8 Firefighter Fundraiser Pub Crawl:

• Starts at Black Bear Sports Bar
• 6pm sharp – 10pm
• Continues to 3 other locations given upon arrival.
• Wrist bands will be sold for $30 which will include drink specials and food specials.
• Raffle tickets will be sold for $20. The drawing will take place at the end of the event.
• Proceeds will be donated to the families of the 8 laid off firefighters.

Please share this email with our fellow brothers and sisters. This is a Public Event!!! So bring friends and family. We have done a great job sticking together in the past. Let’s build on that by starting a new tradition we can rely on when we face lay offs again down the line.

We are looking to pack the place and start a tradition so we can effectively manage and pull together resources needed when we face times of hardship. Any brothers and sisters not able to attend can also purchase raffle tickets through their respective unions and monies can be collected and list of names given for the raffle or can make a donation in their name. We are also accepting union donations!

I was a laid off firefighter in 2010 so I know the feeling of having to scramble to put your life back together in a couple of months. Medical insurance alone is expensive through Cobra. Luckily my past union, Local 274, put together a boat ride which raised monies for the laid off firefighters. There is truly no brotherhood like ours!
