Applications are now available for this year’s BC Matthew Ryan Memorial Scholarships, which are named to honor the fallen Chief who made the supreme sacrifice on September 11, 2001. Two $1,000 scholarships are awarded annually and can be used for college/university, high school, trade school or private school. Application forms and additional information is available online at www.fdnyhockey.org. Applicants must be the daughter or son of an active, retired or deceased (both line of duty and non-line of duty) member of the Fire Department; AND the Firefighter (not the student) must be an active, retired or deceased member who played hockey on FDNY, Firehouse, Town, Local, or League hockey team.
