Putnam County’s annual September 11th Candlelight Vigil will be held on Monday, September 11, 2023, at 7:00pm at the Putnam Heroes Memorial in Corner Stone Park, located at 1 Fair Street in Carmel. The vigil will remember 8 citizens of Putnam County who died at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, and 11 Putnam citizens who have passed as a result of their actions in the aftermath of that faithful day. This years’ service will include a dedication of 3 additional names to the Memorial: 2 Carmel residents, FDNY Lieutenant Michael King (E-88) and NYPD Lieutenant John McArdle (ESU), and Brewster resident FDNY Firefighter John McDonnell (L-116). All members are invited. Class A’s are requested.
