Members and their families are invited to attend a Street Renaming Ceremony in honor of retired Firefighter Robert T. Beckwith of Ladder 117 on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at Fairview Ave, Baldwin in Long Island. Firefighter Beckwith succumbed to WTC-related illness on February 4, 2024. He became an American symbol of hope and unity after rushing to assist in the rescue effort in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center where he famously stood by the side of President George W. Bush at ground zero. The ceremony will honor his memory and sacrifice. Members are requested to attend in dress uniform.
