FDNY MEDAL DAY 2026

This year’s FDNY Medal Day Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, June 3rd at 11:00 AM at City Hall Park. All Department members, including medal winners and their families who plan to attend the ceremonies, should report to the Park Row entrance of City Hall by 9:00 AM. Everyone entering City Hall grounds is required to pass through metal detectors. The 9:00 AM check-in is instrumental in facilitating a timely start of the ceremony. Please be prompt. In the event of inclement weather, this year’s rain location will be at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex located at 625 Father Capodanno Blvd in Staten Island. A final decision will be made Monday morning regarding the location of the event. A teleprinter message will also be sent to all firehouses and EMS Stations.

FDNY MEDAL DAY – BANNERS

Units of medal recipients wishing to display banners at the medal day ceremony are requested to deliver the banners to the Ceremonial Unit Office at Building 135A, Fort Totten, no later than Friday, May 29th, or you can deliver the banners to the Ceremonial Unit at City Hall located at 1 City Hall, City Hall Park, (Broadway and Murray Street), Manhattan, between 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM on Wednesday, June 3rd. The Ceremonial Unit will prominently display the banners for your unit. Banners which are not delivered to the Ceremonial Unit can be displayed, but NOT hung or attached to any part of City Hall. It is requested to limit the size of the banners to 4′ x 6′. Any questions please call the Ceremonial Unit at 718-281-3864.

FDNY MEDAL DAY RECIPIENT DROP OFF AND PICKUP

The drop-off and pick-up location for this year’s Medal Day recipients will be Center Street and Chambers Street (East side of City Hall) for limousines. There will be a ceremonial unit officer to assist at this location. There is no limousine parking. Drivers will have to be contacted via cell phone for pickup.

FDNY MEDAL DAY – PARKING

This year’s Medal Day Ceremony will take place at City Hall Park in Manhattan. There is NO parking available for private vehicles at City Hall. It is highly recommended to use mass transportation.

FDNY MEDAL DAY – SECURITY RESTRICTIONS

City Hall security requires all persons entering City Hall grounds to pass through a metal detector. This applies to all members (including those in uniform). Members must also present their FDNY ID card. In addition, no pocketknives or similar type tools will be allowed into the grounds of City Hall.

BUS DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP FOR MEDAL DAY

Buses will drop members off on the east side of Church Street between Barclay and Warren Streets. There is NO parking available for buses. Drivers should be notified via cell phone to return to this location for pick-up after event. There will be Ceremonial Officers at this location to assist
