In collaboration with the FDNY Bureau of Training and the FDNY Foundation, a proud sponsor of continuing education for FDNY members, we are sharing Governor Hochul’s announcement expanding access to tuition-free community college enrollment through SUNY and CUNY’s Reconnect program. FDNY members and their families are encouraged to explore New York’s expanded SUNY and CUNY Reconnect program. Beginning Spring 2027, eligible New York residents ages 25–55 can pursue associate degrees in high-demand fields with tuition, fees, books and supplies covered, even if they already hold a degree in a different field.
