The Fire Department in conjunction with the FDNY Annual BioPad Event, has arranged free Skin Cancer Screenings for all members, active and retired, in an effort to help prevent one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers among firefighters.

The screenings will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, and Sunday October 4, 2026, from 9:00am to 8:00pm, at FDNY Fleet Services, 48-58 35^th Street, Long island City, NY 11101 and FDNY Headquarters, 9 Metrotech Center, Brooklyn, NY 11201. Dermatologists will be on site to conduct the screenings.

We encourage all members to take advantage of this potentially life-saving screening. The process only takes about 10 minutes but could be vital in detecting your risk for skin cancer. None of your information will be shared with the Department. Firefighters will be advised to follow up with their own dermatologist should anything of note be detected during their screening.

There is NO registration or signup required for this event. Simply stop by either location during screening hours.
