AMVETS, an organization founded in 1944 proudly serving veterans, their families & the communities in which they live for nearly 80 years, is kindly requesting donations of the items listed below for in-patient veterans at VA Hospitals across the city and for those veterans who are currently in Veterans’ Affairs Supportive Housing. Please keep in mind they can ONLY accept new items. Items that need repair or that are soiled or damaged will NOT be accepted.

Items for In-Patient Veterans

• Undergarments (Unisex, sizes Small-5XL)
• Sweatpants and sweatshirt (Unisex, sizes Small-5XL)
• Men’s pants (Waist size 33-52)
• T-shirts (Unisex, sizes Medium-5XL)
• Men’s tank tops (Medium – XXL)
• Women’s bras/sports bras (All sizes)
• Jackets/Coats (Unisex, sizes Small–3XL)
• Shoes (All sizes)
• Men sneakers (Sizes 7.5-13)
• Winter hats and gloves
• Hairbrushes
• Backpacks or duffle bags
• Belts (All sizes).
• Puzzles, chess sets, board games

Items for Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH)

• Deodorant
• Body wash
• Laundry detergent
• Soap (bar soap and hand soap)
• Cleaning supplies
• Snacks & food (non-perishable)

Items will be collected at the next General Membership Meeting, Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at the Marina del Rey, located at 1 Marina Drive, in the Bronx. All donations are greatly appreciated and AMVETS thanks all firehouses for your collective support in helping veterans and their families in our city.
