A reminder to members that the Fire Department is once again participating in City Harvest’s “Feed our kids food drive” to collect nonperishable, kid-friendly food for distribution to hungry families. City Harvest’s food drive will run from May 11 – June 15. All Firehouses and EMS Stations have been designated as collection points for the drive. A City Harvest poster advertising the drive will be forwarded to each Firehouse and EMS Station, which shall be displayed in public view through June 15. Please call City Harvest at 646-277-7800 or email fooddrives@cityharvest.org any time before the end of June 2025 to arrange food pickups from Firehouses and EMS Stations. When scheduling a pickup, please make sure that food is packed in sturdy boxes or bags, with a maximum weight of 50 pounds per box or bag. All canned or packaged nonperishable food items can be donated. The Fire Department is proud to be participating in this worthwhile program again this year – thanks to FDNY and other partners, last year’s food drive raised more than 530,000 pounds of food for New Yorkers in need!
