On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 5:00pm, The honorable Ed Flood, representing New York Sate 4^th Assembly district, will honor Louie Andrade as the 2024 Veteran of the year. The ceremony will be held at the Setauket Fire Department on 394 Nicolls Rd, Setauket-East Setauket, NY 11733. Captain Andrade entered the ranks of the FDNY in 1957 after having served in the United States Marine Corps. Andrade was a Lieutenant in Engine 82 at the height of the War Years in the South Bronx. He later served as the Captain in Engine 69 in Harlem and Engine 320 in Queens. In addition to his valiant service in Korea with the United States Marine Corp, Mr. Andrade served with the fire department for 33 years until his retirement in 1990 and has volunteered with the Setauket Fire Department for over 50 years. Members and families are all welcome to come.
