On September 11, as a mark of respect to those members of the Department who made the Supreme Sacrifice on 9/11/01, all firehouses will pull Department Apparatus (where applicable) onto the apron of quarters a few minutes before 8:46 AM. At 8:45 AM, Company Officers shall read the Remembrance before the 08:46 AM moment of silence, before placing apparatus back in quarters. Companies shall observe the additional moments of silence as listed below:

• 8:46 AM:    In observance of the time the first plane struck the North Tower.
• 9:03 AM:    In observance of the time the second plane struck the South Tower.
• 9:37 AM:    In observance of the time Flight 77 struck the Pentagon.
• 9:59 AM:    In observance of the time of the fall of the South Tower.
• 10:03 AM: In observance of the time Flight 93 crashed near Shanksville, PA.
• 10:28 AM: In observance of the time of the fall of the North Tower.
