The 18th Anniversary of September 11th – Memorial Services

BATTALION 57 SEPTEMBER 11 MEMORIAL MASS
The Officers and Members of Battalion 57 invite you and your family to share in their Memorial Mass on Wednesday, September 11 at 12:00 PM, at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph, 856 Pacific Street, Brooklyn (Vanderbilt Ave. – Underhill Ave.)All family, friends and neighbors are welcome. In a special tribute to the Firefighters from Battalion 57, 23 FDNY Ceremonial Flags, led by the American Flag, will be marched from the site of the World Trade Center to the Cathedral of St. Joseph. Anyone wishing to march in this procession should arrive at the quarters of Engine 219/Ladder 105 (494 Dean Street, 718-965-8219) no later than 9:15 AM. MEMORIAL MASS
On Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at 1030 hours, E-54/L-4/B-9 will host a Memorial Mass honoring the fallen FDNY members who perished on September 11, 2001. The Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, 5th Avenue, Manhattan. All off-duty members and their families are invited to attend. Members are requested to attend in dress uniform.


SEPTEMBER 11TH MEMORIAL SERVICE AT FDNY HEADQUARTERS
On Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at 1400 hours, a Memorial Service will be held in the Auditorium of 9 Metro Tech in remembrance of the members of Fire Headquarters who made the Supreme Sacrifice on 9/11/01. A wreath will be laid at the Memorial Wall, and flowers will be placed by the plaques honoring Chief of Department Peter Ganci, First Deputy Commissioner William Feehan, and Assistant Chiefs Donald Burns and Gerard Barbara.


AT THE NATIONAL SEPTEMBER 11TH MEMORIAL PLAZA AT THE WTC SITE
On Wednesday, September 11, 2019, the City will commemorate the 18th anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center. The observance will take place at the National September 11th Memorial Plaza at the WTC Site at Liberty Street and Trinity Place on the morning of September 11. Family members of the victims who perished in 2001 at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and on Flight 93, as well as the six victims of the 1993 WTC bombing, have been invited to participate in this year’s reading of the names.


AT TRIBUTE WALL
On September 11, from 0800 hours to dusk, an Honor Guard will be stationed at the Tribute Wall located on the outer wall of Engine 10 / Ladder 10. All members and their families are invited to attend.


AT FIREMEN’S MONUMENT
On September 11, at 0930 hours, members of Battalion 18 will host the annual Memorial Services at the Firemen’s Monument on Riverside Drive and 100th Street (Upper West Side of Manhattan). All members and their families are invited to attend. A Mass at St. John the Divine will follow at 1215 hours.


OTHER SEPTEMBER 11TH RELATED CEREMONIES
On September 11th, at 1800 hours, the Office of the Staten Island Borough President will host a Memorial Service at the Staten Island September 11th Memorial located adjacent to the Staten Island Ferry Terminal. All members and their families are invited to attend.


SEPTEMBER 11TH CEREMONY
Every year, the names of the 343 FDNY members who perished on September 11, 2001, are read at the Cathedral of the Pines, Rindge, New Hampshire. The Cathedral of the Pines is a “cathedral without borders”, and it hosts events for over 75 different faiths from around the world. A reverent reading of the names of the victims will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at 0845 hours. For more information, visit www.cathedralofthepines.org.
