Det. Anastasios Tsakos was struck by a hit and run drunk driver on the Long Island Expressway on April 27, 2021. The driver, whose BAC was nearly twice the legal limit, had been on social media earlier that that evening spewing anti-cop sentiments. After hitting Det. Tsakos, she fled the scene but was later apprehended and sentenced to 27 years in prison.

Det. Tsakos, 43, left behind his wife, Irene, and their two young children. His family is hosting this 2nd annual blood drive to celebrate his legacy of giving and service.

Those who are able are encouraged to participate in this blood drive to show our support for the NYPD and the Tsakos family.
